Iowa Faces Former Teammate at Purdue Saturday

At the Michigan tailgate we talked to some player parents near our group whose are good friends of Jones and his family from when he was here. He turned down $650k from nebraska to go there and got 7 figures from Purdue between NIL and boosters.

I'm pretty sure this isn't an uncommon thing now. When you're dealing with P5 football programs you're also dealing with literally hundreds of different millionaire donors at each program, and in certain schools billionaires.

First and foremost, I want the Hawks to beat Purdue.

But secondarily, I would love to see us shut Jones down. Not that it would prove anything, I agree that he absolutely made the best decision for himself. Oh I'd be totally ok with that as well don't get me wrong. I just want to beat them. Sounds like the weather may be kinda shitty. So that may work in our favor. I heard 30 plus mph winds and rain may be on the agenda.

NIL or no NIL there were likely a number of things that discouraged his outlook while projecting a final season at Iowa. Being listed #2 on our depth chart at his position at the end of spring ball this year.........give me a break.

Fant didn't depart the program but it takes me back to some similar thoughts while watching him ride the bench (or used very little) during some BIG games.
