if we keep giving them the ball at the 40. Didn't Jon talk about how our kickoffs were going to be a strength this year?

This is a great point - give a team the ball at the 35 or 40 time after time and bad things are going to happen. Iowa football used to pride themselves on special team play - this year it has been down right horrible.

Stoudemire is an electric return guy, and we purposely kept it out of his hands. Do you really think that Mossbrucker shanked that many kickoffs? Those were intentional squibs.

Jon also predicted a 12-0 season. He's not that credible.

I think a lot of people gave this team an excellent shot at winning 10 games or more. And why not? They returned almost everyone from last years 11-2 squad. Fresh off a domination of a good Georgia Tech team, a 10 win season was a easy pick.

Something happened and this team imploded after Michigan State and lost 3 of 4 games.

I was actually refering to the year as a whole, but your right about todays game... and it still didn't work.

Meyer did a really good job the first half of the year. My only guess is that with him being a true freshman and handling PAT/FG duties as well, his leg just started getting tired. That stamina can, and I imagine will be built up with more time spent with Doyle.
