like them or not they're different watching the pregame on BTN. Looks like an American flag draped over their shoulder pads and helmet sorta like a Maryland thing

The blood splatter on the flag pattern is a nice touch. Recruits really like that, kind of call of duty like.

Btn just pointed out that the players have name plates on the jerseys that say "duty" or "service" ect..... I thought that I read on an HN thread that this was not allowed. Fran wanted to put "STREET" on the bb jerseys on chris street night, and the ncaa said no. No nicknames either. ???? Anybody know why? I know NWs jerseys are to be auctioned for charity, but does that change the rule?

I was wondering about this also. I'm wondering if it's a politically correct thing where you can use it for a cause but not an individual. Of course it's the NCAA so any logical reasoning should be tossed out the window. That's a foreign concept to the NCAA.

I've seen that before when teams were wearing special jerseys honoring the armed forces. Can't remember who, but it was a few years ago. Probably had to get permission to use them, and honoring the nation is okay, a local or team thing is not.

The rule was you can't use another player's name on the back of your jersey. So you can use Team, Loyalty, Service etc, but not an individuals name.

I don't usually like crazy uniforms but if you're gonna have one that is totally different and has nothing to do with your team then these were pretty good.

I flipped on the game and saw a guy walking off the field with FREEDOM on his back, I thought, "Wow, that's a good name for those uniforms." Then I realized that they all had different words on their backs and I
felt stupid.

I thought a lot of guys had the same name. That explains it. Thanks for clearing it up.
