Northwestern Tickets Sold

There has been a lot of chatter on this board about how cheaply football tickets are being sold these days. Lots of chatter about not renewing season tickets, and single game tickets selling for $5 and $10. Lots of chatter about staying home for the balance of the 2014 season and maybe watching the games on TV.

I am going to miss the Iowa/Northwestern game this year because it is the same weekend as my annual pheasant hunting trip to South Dakota. So, I put my two season tickets, which are in row 26 in the south endzone, up for sale at $80 each. I used Stub Hub as a season ticket holder through the Iowa portal. I was notified today, 3 days after I put them up for sale, that they sold for my full asking price of $80 each. I will clear $144 and I think the buyer will actually pay a fee that would increase their cost by some small amount...not sure how this works.

I am on no way suggesting that this allows us to make assumptions about the popularity of Iowa tickets, but I found it interesting.

Youth tickets (25$) were still available for this game...I paid face amount for 6 tix through UofI ticket office this week for jNW game because it was much cheaper than what was available on Craig's list, eBay, or stubhub. Location is sideline endzone, or worse, and if I were looking for 2, I would have picked up better seats via those routes, but now 4 kids can see a Hawk game in person without breaking the bank.

There may be tix available for cheaper at stadium, but this year they are still pricey on the secondary markets vs the past 2 years where they were much cheaper.

That said, I will only go to 3 games this year because the on field product is stale, and I have no desire to pick up season tix anytime soon.

I'll defer to PT Barnum on this one.

It's called Capitalism and Freedom. Some of us, in America, still don't want to
be communists, standing in bread lines, waiting for manna from 'the Party'.

Just DO NOT sell your IOWA HAWKEYE tickets at Kinnick for the November 28th game,
the day after Thanksgiving.

Even though there will be a lot of calls for tickets from the Trailer Parks out west, hold on to
those tickets, Hawkeye fans!!!

I beseech you

File this post under "Cool Story, brah".

The price of tickets will change depending on the outcome of the upcoming games.

Hawks win next two and jNW tickets will be pricier and even outside the stadium gameday. Lose a few and tickets will be cheap.

Part of it is those people who want to see a big game , some people just want to be a t the event even if they are not fb afficionados.

If hawks win the next 5 then tickets for final two games will be primo

I totally agree. If the hawks can get to some of these big games with a string of W's under their belts, the JNW, UW, and of course UNL tickets will be hot items.

Nice rant. WTF?

Bread lines. lol. This is the Everhawk writing style. Hmmm..

GO HAWKEYES !!!
Love them Hawkeyes........Hope the Hawkeye fans SELL OUT for the remaining
games at Kinnick.

Did I mention Go Hawkeyes? Beat Indiana

It would be nice to throttle Northwestern this year. They've gotten all to comfortable with us the last several years.

You could say that about several opponents on our schedule. I'd add this wkends contest to that throttle list.

Go Hawks!

The game didn't even sellout the last time and there are currently about 4,400 of them available from the ticket office.

You really need to get over yourself.
