Northern Illinois Bus Trip

My Dad and I are putting together a bus trip to the game at Soldier Field and I thought I would see if any more Hawk fans would be interested in joining us. The plan is to leave from Des Moines Friday, August 31st, with stops to pick up more people in Iowa City, and Davenport on the way to Chicago. We are staying in a hotel about 30 minutes from Soldier Field Friday and Saturday night, and returning to Des Moines on Sunday.

Included in the cost of the trip is hotel, game ticket, all you care to drink beverages (adult/other) on the bus trip up, and at the tailgate, with food at the tailgate provided as well.

The cost depends on how many people you have per hotel room (2 - 5 people per room) but will range from $200 - $280 per person.

I also want to mention that we are NOT making any profit on this, it is just a trip we are putting together for family, friends, and fellow Hawk fans. If you would like more details about any of this please respond to this post or email me. Thanks!

Do you have a license to sell liquor in Crook County, Illinois?

Anyone know when tickets go on sale to the general public?

Im guessing there wont be many. Im thinking most will be snatched up by season ticket holders. They werent too tight on how many season ticket holders could request:

Kinnick Society: 12 (Limit of 8 at the Club Level)
Champion Hawk: 10 (Limit of 6 at the Club Level)
Golden Hawk: 8 (Limit of 4 at the Club Level)
Silver Hawk: 6 (Limit of 2 at the Club Level)
All other season ticket holders: 4 (No Club Level Access)

Do youhave any idea where your stoping in Davenport? And when would you want the money by?

We haven't decided exactly where we're stopping in Davenport yet and it depends on how many people we need to pick up. Preferably someplace close to the interstate.

We would need a deposit very soon to hold your spots and then full payment by June. Email me if you would like more details about this. Thanks!

Well...that's not good. I buy mine through my sisters priority but I don't think she donates. 4 would not be enough if I want to make it a family event as we usually do for the first game. You don't have to buy through the U right?

Wasn't hard to get tickets last time. Was a fun scene though. It was also during Jazz Fest. Great weekend. Bad football.

I had tickets the last time, but I went with people that didnt and just expected to scalp. There was absolutely nothing for sale and thousands looking.

Uh, you can buy tickets from wherever you would like. They dont have to come from the University box office. Will more than likely overpay on StubHub or Craigslist.

I didnt do this the last time we played in Soldier but maybe the NIU ticket office wont sell out their ticket allotment and will have extras for Hawk fans to snatch up.

Sounds like a fun time. I'm curious where you are going to get rooms at in downtown Chicago to keep the cost at below $300 per person?
