Norm is the best. He's a classic, a throwback. He's priceless.

I always liked Norm Parker's defense. I remember talking with him before a Golden Harvest gathering in early August, before Iowa went to it's first bowl game under Ferentz. I said to Norm, "I just love your defense". Norm responded, we have a long ways to go to be decent. I couldn't help but notice the defenses play in those early years when Iowa was having losing seasons. You could see the promise in Norm's system.

I knew Norm would, before long, crank out championship defenses. He did it everywhere else and I thought he would do it at Iowa.

Norm is truly one of the very best defensive coordinators in college football. We are very blessed to have Norm Parker at Iowa.

Couldn't agree more. We are so blessed to have Norm Parker as our DC. He not only develops players, but he also molds men. He is a very special man, who will be remembered far beyond his coaching days.
