Norm Parker Hospitalized

Per Rob Howe on KXNO, he believes that Norm Parker might have been hospitalized today because of his foot/diabetes again.

By any chance did the same thing happen prior to Iowa's last trip to desert? Seems to ring a bell, but I am not sure.

This is not uncommon for him, he has been making tons of trips over the years. I work with a former D player who said it was not uncommon for him to come to practice from the hospital and then return there after practice.

I'll be saying a prayer for Coach Parker tonight. Norm has been through so much and he still gives so much to our program. God Bless you Coach Parker!

Norm's presence is unquestionable in importance and his coaching philosophy is second to none, but it will not change the outcome of this game whether he is there or not.

I hope your right, Norm is instrumental to Iowa success. But of course the important thing is that Norm is ok.

Norm is a coach not cheerleader. He get his team ready during the week. I hope he is there but if not we will be fine, we have excellent position coaches and the captain knows about defense himself.

It's probably not a coincedence he waited until Thursday night or Friday morning to admit himself or let someone else convince him to be admitted. The team will be prepared. The majority of this staff has remain unchanged since Ferentz arrived. I'm sure Norm and his style rubbed off on them just a lil.

Nobody tomorrow because I think he still plans on being at the game, he will be in the press box but at least he will still be there so any halftime adjustments that need to be made he is there to make them.

He has been coaching from the press box for the better part of the last year now anyway.

I'll go on record saying if he isn't there we're at least 3 points worse. I remember when he was out in the past and it was like a different D when he came back. Norm IMO is more of a loss than if Kirk were out and I'm a big Kirk fan
