McNutt reaching out for pylon and losing the ball. Good thing is he.was ruled out before that I believe, but it could have been a similar play to the Marve play at the end.

Did he fumble before hitting pylon? I cant remember but thinnking I saw him hit pylon while in control of ball. That would have been okay.

He stepped out of bounds, then lost the ball, then the ball hit the pylon. It was even more clearly out of his hand than Marv's fumble.

There's no reason to mention it since he was clearly out of bounds before reaching for the pylon.

I hope that the Hawks' experience benefiting from that fumble in the Purdue game will make guys think twice about trying to extend with one hand over the goal line. Unless you're already at 3rd or 4th and goal, it is a such a high risk/low reward play. The reward, at best, is that you score a touchdown instead of having the ball at the half-yard line (which, if it was a long play, would be first and goal). The risk is an absolute disaster-- you go from what was a likely touchdown and at worst an almost certain field goal to a turnover and a 20-yard loss of field position.
