Chill, H-Nation. I told you all how this was gonna go down since last Saturday,
here How are the Hawks gonna react against Minney?
and here Iowa has not lost back to back games all sesaon!
and here Post Goofer thread

I've also been trying to reassure that it will ultimately allow the Hawks to regain their mojo

Sure, it's frustrating to keep losing to inferior teams because Coach McLiter is hitting the panic button and (with the exception of a certain hard-working senior captain) plucking straws to determine substitution strategy. Even more so when others do everything but hold the door of opportunity open for the Hawks, only to see them trip and faceplant on the threshold.

Remember when it used to be the Hawks just peed all over themselves -- playing their way out of contention through some unexpected, inexplicable loss? It always seemed to come down to, "if [so and so team] were to lose..." but those other teams never came thru for Iowa.

Now, at least all those other teams keep opening the window for the Hawks through their own ineptitude. Sure, the Hawks keep right on slamming it shut with another loss themselves but, hey, isn't that a small glimmer of hope that the luck is changing? At least the heart-breaking losses actually have meaning and consequences.

I don't know about you but I thank Fran LickCaffrey for that progress and find myself really buying into his call to "get MAD again". In fact, I'm so super f-ing mad about it I should be fan of the year!

Anyway, chins up, Hawk fans. The 2nd season is coming.
