No Wisconsin, Ohio State, or Illinois until 2015

When the next rotation takes place, one of these three will be left off our schedule again, making it at least 5 years in between meetings (7 if it is Illinois since we haven't played them since 2008). Of course we all hope to meet Ohio State in the Big Ten title game sometime during that period.

This will make it seem like an non-conference game when we actually do play them again. Hard to believe that after this year Ohio State, Wisconsin and Illinois will not make their next trip to Kinnick until at least 2013. Crazy to think that someone can go play football somewhere for four years and never play one school in their own conference. That is what we are looking at now.

Love the Nebraska game at the end of the year though. Let's GO HAWKS!!!

We will still play those teams. If we only play the teams in are division then thats 5 teams not counting Iowa. That leaves 7 games left to fill. We will have cross over games.

Huh? We have eight conference games. Six are set in stone: Nebraska, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota and Northwestern are our inner division games. Purdue is our protected game, so that is our sixth.

That leaves TWO openings, not seven.

There are five teams being rotated for those two openings: Penn State and Indiana will be those two games for 2011/2012. In 2013 two of the aforementioned schools (OSU, Wisconsin, Illinois) will come into that rotation, leaving one off again.

Make sense yet?

dude get with the program. schedules are already out for 2011 and 2012 including protected game every year vs purdue, and the next 2 years we play PSU and Indiana as our rotating games. there for no OSU, Wiscy and Illinois for the next 2 years. And since we only play 2 teams from the other division each 2 year rotation, that means one of OSU, wiscy, or illinois will be left off again.

Thank you. Haha

kobe - my first thought when this thing rolled out and i saw the schedule was that we won't have played Illinois for YEARS - having not played them for the last season and this season, and now not for a few years going forward.

What that really means? Not seeing zooker pacing the sidelines chewing aspirin, ever again......

Yup. Worst part is those SOBs got us the last time we met. I believe that was our last loss prior to the NW debacle last year?
