There were many words on his respect for the university and our state. He also spoke a lot about how he has and plans to connect to his players.

He said that he wants to sell to parents that their kids are in good hands and will be cared for....
 
First, I don't think that's in his lexicon.

Second, I'm sure Gary Barta made sure that if it was, it was left back in New York.

His graduation rate at Siena is impressive.
 
Two things really rubbed me the wrong way in Lick's first presser. "The Butler Way" and when asked about making Iowa connections and recruiting good in-state players, he responded, "We want good players from anywhere."

I thought, "Wow, nice way to casually diss the state, ***!"
