Our D just gave up a TD and our Pass rush couldn't get the QB down all day. WHy not go for it on 4th and inches? Our QB sneak had gotten a couple yards all year. Our coach has no heart. We aren't good enough on D to ride em like we could in past years. We get first down there and at least have a shot to get the tying FG or maybe a TD. No Heart for our coach and it translates to our team and fans. Its really pathetic

If we punt and lose the conventional way then we didn't execute. If we go for it and get stuffed then he has to go to sleep tonight feeling like he made a decision that cost us the game.
 


I am speechless. What is left of a horrible season and KF punts on 4 and inches with no promise of getting the ball back against one of the worst defenses in the country.

I am thinking we cancel the next facilities project and just buy this guy out. How can anyone support this any longer. Then we fire Barta and get a real AD.

Because Kirk's a wuss and that showed absolute 0 confidence in your guys upfront. I'd be ****** if I was them. I suspect it might create another shouting match between Brian and his Dad. Kirk's lost his edge.
 








I think we ought to have KF not coach...just stay at home. Give me someone who has some fire and plays to win. The team and program reflects our SOFT head coach.
 


3.7 million a year and we can't beat Northwestern or Indiana 90% of the time is pathetic. We are living up to the little ol Iowa garbage I hear on this page...please explain to me how teams like K state, Oregon, Boise St can land recruits and win football games in such cold and lousy climates?

Enough with the excuses already Hawkeyenation, these excuses are like ********, everyone has one and they all stink!
 


Cliff notes: Iowa sucks, and Kurt refuses to adjust. That should sum up every thread through next week.
 


It has nothing to do with adjustments and everything to do with a SOFT coach who is uninterested in working hard and demanding accountability. He is simply riding out his time....could care less about the fans who are the lifeblood of this program.
 


why go for it on 4th and inches w/ 3:00 left down by 3?!! Everyone knows coach plays not-to-lose. We could possibly win in we make that.

The first thing we need to do is fire Barta for the stupidity of that contract extension. Hire an AD with some brains and some balls who will force Ferentz to make changes(fire his incompetent coordinators)
 




His son is a dam good center and I have a lot more faith in his son then he does. QB sneak over that kid its going to make it more times then not. The captain needs to sit at home over the holidays and watch modern day college football. 3 yards and a pile of $hit aint cutting it. Another inexcusable call. No wonder the kids have no confidence. Hell the coach won't even go over his son to go the length of a subway sandwich.
 


I think maybe sitting at home and watching some other teams is going to be good medicine for Ferentz. He'll see that there is a whole world out there in terms of offense that he never knew about.

Just curious if this game is at Kinnick and it's 4th and inches, does the crowd get on it's feet and show emotion to try and persuade the coach to go for it(should have been a no brainer), or would we just sit on our hands, because we know he's not going to go for it anyway.

Exactly. I totally agree with you. After 55 minutes of that game you had to realize the defense was tired, and a 4th and 2 feet call was probably higher percentage than punt and stop and get the ball back. I thought punting there was not trying to win it there.

Even if they stuff us we have two timeouts, almost 5 minutes and if we can hold them to a field goal try we can win it with a TD.
