Nixon, Gholston and Sargent declare for NFL per KCCI

I was hoping selfishly that Sargent would stay but he has two pretty full years of carries, and Nixon and Gholston cant prove much more

Well...I know Nixon and Golston are gone...hopefully Sargent doesn't hire an agent...so he maybe can come back. I think he's an underrated back. He runs tough between the tackles and he can catch it.

Agreed, Linderbaum is the key to Iowa's o-line success this year, and it will be the same next year if he stays. Sargent is going to be harder to replace than people think, and his abilities went a long way toward getting Goodsen the rest he needed every game with little or no drop-off. In fact, I think Sargent had a higher yd/carry average this year than Goodsen -- at least he did at some point during the season.

It's always sad to see these guys go but I don't blame them one bit. I would expect Linderbaum to go, he's looking pretty good for the draft right now.

I was happy to see that VanValkenberg is coming back. He must think by doing so he can improve on being 2nd team alll B1G.

i'm wondering about Heflin as well. He did a pretty good job at DT, good not great, and maybe coming back does him some good. He got into the program late and didn't get the benefit of all the off-season workouts, time learning the system etc.

Just saw on twitter that Linderbaum is coming back. that surprised me.

HOpe that they have as good an OLine unit as this year. Its been awhile since Iowa had a good O-Line (due to depth or talent)

I don't see Mehki getting drafter but he has an outside shot at making a roster. It is really tough to run between the tackles in the NFL but teams keep trying, they have to. Mehki is a tough dude, strong, and he runs between the tackles pretty well, he's pretty quick through the line so he could do some damge but those big, bad defenders would pound his body.

Maybe Canada is the place for him.
