NFLPA request that rookies decline invites to the draft

Must be working. Clayborn posted on his Facebook that he has received an invitation to Radio City Music Hall for the draft. Congrats to him on the honor.

Still, he's not considered a top 15 pick at this point, and those are usually the guys who get invited. There must have been quite a few "Thanks, but no thanks".

I don't know man, if I were going to get drafted this year, my loyalty would likely run to the guy who would be signing my checks. But with the NFL it's tough because if you cross the line, you have a good chance someone might cheap shot your knee, as we have all seen the violence union fellas are capable of. If I were going to be a rookie, I'd be pretty worried because the one thing the NFLPA and the owners can prolly agree on is a rookie salary cap.

All the more reason Clayborn's draft status would have risen tremendously had he come back for his 6th season.
