I just looked over the past few drafts and compared the selections to when they came out of high school. This is a list of the first rounders taken. In 2006 and 2005 you see the numbers of selections getting low, because a lot of the players came in before 2002 when sites started keeping track.

2009 draft
5*-6
4*-12
3*-6
2*- 7
1*-1
Average star rating is 3.5

2008 draft
5*-4
4*-13
3*-7
2*-6
1*-1
Average star rating is 3.1

2007 draft
5*-5
4*-18
3*-6
2*-3
1*-
average star rating is 3.8

2006 draft
5*-4
4*-13
3*-4
2*-2
1*-
Average star rating is 3.7

2005 draft
5*-
4*-4
3*-
2*-3
1*-
Average star rating is 3.1

The average star ratings for all classes were 3.44.

Just show a strong correlation between stars and high draft picks. There are only 25 five stars. About 20% of 5-stars get drafted in the 1st round. There are tons of three stars, and a small percentage get drafted in the first round.

That is the real data to look at...sure more 2 stars get drafted in the first round...there are a lot more 2 stars to pull from. This is interesting...but I'm not sure what point is being made here. This is about what I would expect.

I'm just showing that being a 5 and 4* you have a higher chance of getting drafted, but at the same time you cannot discount the lower ranked guys. Its basically just showing how hard it is to evaluate over 3,000 recruits each year.
