Don't suck anymore.
Being a fan for more than 34 years, it's nice to be interested in Major League Baseball again.
Now I'm not saying they are going to win the division or anything crazy like that, but they are competitive with any team, and fun to watch.

If they were to add a quality 4th starter, to take Davies spot in the rotation, who knows where they could be?
Hosmer will be a great addition, he is very reliable defensively and will get better offensively the more ABs he gets.
Looking forward to the rest of the year.

They have Duffy, and Mazzaro down in Omaha. Theyll be up soon, Vin Mazzaro got his first start last night and did not look to bad. When Moustakas, Cain, Giavotella get called up and Cain goes to center and they can trade Melky to free some space and maybe pick a pitcher. Stay around 500. in May because Cleveland is not as good as they think they are Chi sox are to old and the Twins are struggling could make the summer interesting. Its about time Ive sat thru to many 100 loss seasons.

I am paying more attention to baseball this year than I have in three years, due to the Royals. They were my first ever love in sports..have been reading their box scores every day since about 1978 when I was 7.

I'm a Cubs fan that lives in KC. The Royals have been really fun to watch this year, and it's only going to get better in the coming years. Yost makes some moves that make me scratch my head, but I think he's the right coach for this youth movement.

Settle down fellas.

They are above .500 on May 12th for probably just the 5th or 6th time in the last 20 years and have not been to the playoffs since 1985...I was 14 then. I am now 40 and can still remember nearly every player on the playoff roster that season.

Once proud organization...once was the envy of MLB related to its farm system (aside from the Dodgers in the 70's and 80's) once had the highest payroll in baseball as recently as 1990!

Long time...so we celebrate small wins :)

I heard on the radio earlier this week that KC had played 23 home games so far to the Twins 10. I don't follow that closely, but that sounds like quite a disparity. It will obviously even out by end of season.

OK I will let you have your small wins. Being a KC resident I don't mind them being a winning ball club just as long as they don't win against the Cardinals!

Just put a 6-spot up against the Yanks in the 2nd. Up 6-0. Big Chiefs fan and have always sorta followed the Royals. Nice to see them winning and have a bright future ahead.

I too am paying attention to MLB more than I have in a long time. Going to my first KC game in about 20 years on the 31st. Yes I am an old, old man.

Still just a bit early for excitement. Just as it is early for despair. The it is just 6 weeks in. The Twins are a mere shell of a team at this point. What stars are there are underperforming. If this team gets it together within a couple of weeks I wouldn't want to be any team in this division. Call it being optimistic, but I think there is still plenty of season left and just as it is early to rule out the Twins, it is early to say the Royals don't suck.
The White Sox also have a ton of room for improvement too.

Royals take two of three from Yankees in NY...Hosmer goes yard today for second straight game, 3 for 5 day...very nice.

Rough weekend in Detroit, but the Royals ran into buzz saws in Verlander and Penny. Hopefully the offense can get back on track as they open a 7 game home stand tonight against Cleveland who sent Grady Sizemore to the DL today.
