New Website: www.BiggerTen.com

I have enjoyed writing on Big Ten related topics on HawkeyeNation in the past...but there is a line between too many things not Hawkeye related...so I hatched the idea to start
and I got a few friends together to be a part of it.

Mark Hasty: Mark is a former contributor to the now defunct AOLFanhouse website, where he wrote columns and opinions related to the Big Ten. He presently resides in Wisconsin and grew up in Big Ten country.

Adam Kramer: Adam is the publisher of the popular college football blog kegsneggs.com, providing his own unique slant and observations on the world of college football. He resides in Vernon Hills, IL

Joe Byrd: Joe will primarily focus on the Nebraska Cornhuskers and this is his first tour of duty as a website contributor. He resides in Des Moines, Iowa

and Steve Deace and me.

We'll also be adding more contributors for the site that are more team centric. For me, I just enjoy an outlet to discuss Big Ten stuff without feeling I am straying too far off focus for HawkeyeNation.com. This way, there is now a portal for that and I can bring those topics back here to the message boards for discussions, because many of us do enjoy Big Ten related topics.

So if you're into this sort of stuff, give the site a look...and follow on twitter @biggerten

Note to self: Find out if www.biggestten.com is taken. Could be future rights fee opportunity.

LOL...someone tweeted something like this today...I think bigger is all encompassing for me ;)

I had several other bigten centric names purchased...bigtenhub, bigtenbuzz, etc...but I spoke to one of my friends at the Big Ten and he said that we could ultimately wind up with a legal problem as that is a trademark issue...so I went with biggerten.

Great idea.

Thanks...its something I have thought about for the last 12 years or so, since the Big Ten shut down the BigTenFanForums...that's really where I got my passion for the interwebs and sports message boards (I was DenverHawk there for you old timers)

It's just not something I never had time to put together, or the resources...with all the things I have learned as an independent the past two years, and the relationships I have made and six months of no radio work this spring and summer, I put it to use in a number of ways, this being one of them.

I also want to give guys like Joe a chance to get into the sports publishing biz if they have a passion for it...he'll get exposure off the traffic the more established staff members can generate via twitter, etc...and if he wants to go start his own Husker site in a year or so, more power to him.

So if there are any lurking superfans of Big Ten schools reading this, shoot me an email ;)

Checked it out. Looks good,Jon. Clean look to the format, and the content should be solid. Nice to get some outside perspectives from beyond hawkeye family.

But, still need to adjust your sites on Michigan and the Iowa-Purdue game...new facts allow for an audible,Jon. Sticking to your March picks might be brave, but everyone else, cept for hard-copy mags, factor in new info, and with Purdue's qb's going down...and Persa hurting...ya gotta get with the program, buddy!
