Probably yeah. Since this just came out now and prior to this how would they have really had a clue to what extent that'd be the case. And it's not like we've played a game yet. We all know how KF puts these out in pencil especially the first one.Probably a stretch in logic, but does the youth movement have an impact on Iowa’s 2022 recruiting class?
Hear Hear! Jacobs will be really good ... crazy fast... but OMG Jack Campbell!!! he and Seth Benson are gonna put a hurt on folks!!....the FS spot always kinda bugs me ... now not everyone is Freaking Tyler Sash ( RIP) but it seems to me you need real speed in the FS spotProbably yeah. I expect to see that Xavier Williams UNI transfer get in there some too yet he's not even on this for some reason. So it's KF BF and Parker doing what they do with it. It's fun to see but to put too much stock into all of it would be a mistake.
The one guy I'm fired up to see out there more is Jacobs at that cash position. I expect to see him in there rushing the passer on passing downs and I think he'll start living up to his recruiting rankings when he does that.
Well, Koerner was 2nd Team All-Big Ten last year, so he's not a stiff by any means...geesh, what do you want? Oh, and he owns all the safety power-lifting records...Hear Hear! ... Korner is ok good hitter, .umm Quinn Shutle? anybody know anything about him? and what happened to Dallas Cradith (sp)? Maybe Xavier Williams gets a look see? and I could see Kelly Ivory Martian having a big year...he hits the hole really fast!! is strong and smart ...time will tell .. and speaking of fast, our #2 TE Luke Latchy,....can really run!! reminds me of Hock!
Hard to say. Today's youth think they're ready to walk onto a college campus and start right away, regardless of who's ahead of them.Probably a stretch in logic, but does the youth movement have an impact on Iowa’s 2022 recruiting class?
I'm curious about that Dallas kid too because he was a pretty highly recruited kid too and he's only been in there on special teams so far and hasn't cracked the 2 deep. Hopefully he's really good too and there's just only so many spots. That DB room is crazy deep so a couple guys will just end up being the odd guys out I suppose.Hear Hear! YES!!!! it's football season
Anyone else think our D is going to be really really good because I do.

Not very often you see a four year letter winner on a preseason depth chart.
Has anyone ever lettered five times in football at Iowa?
So so much of this yr is on Petras shoulders. I think the Oline will be solid (even with 2 new tackles the interior should be dominant) He's got quick fast talented WRs to throw to that he's been with over a year now to have built up a report with. That includes Laporta. Oh and we have some RB named Goodson that folks think is worthy enough to be on the Doak Walker list. So the X factor is Petras and can he take the bull by the horns and play confident and aggressive or will he be tenative and be inaccurate? The more I read and consider Iowa’s potential, the more I think they will win the BT West. Maybe hands down. Likely end up in the top 10-12 in the country. Also, even if we lose to Indiana and/or ISU, I still think they win the West. Part of my optimism is based on the 6-0 Iowa run under Petras in 2020. I believe there has been far too much attention paid to his perceived weaknesses. I think Iowa is now in the re-load category.
Yeah DT is probably the X factor to the D due to inexperience for sure. And they aren't the biggest dudes either so they'll have to have eaten their Wheaties. If they can just hold their own and not be a liability I think the D will be lights out as a whole. I think the ends will provide some pressure even though there isn't an AJ Epenesa talent out there. So yeah the back 7 will have to be really good to compensate for the pass rush not being quite as explosive. I think Campbell is a star in the making. I don't think 1st team all BIG is out of the question for him. Benson is good and Jacobs is big and fast and going to see time out there on passing downs I bet. This defense could be another very good one going on great. Totally returning the secondary and Belton as CASH has plenty of experience. The other two linebackers have a good amount of experience and played well and they are very athletic and skilled. there is one top Dee End and two with a lot of experience in Waggoner and Evans.
Dee Tackle is the big question mark but Phil P. and his coaches find and use very athletic guys with trained up technique to stop the run.
Will we be as good at rushing the passer as the last two years??
Potential for a defense with low scoring against average which is the bottom line
This is our biggest question mark. I think this D-Line has a lot of potential but they are short on experience. We have to hope they are up to the task in the first two games, especially. As we go through the season, I think they will be better and better. And it will have to be a pass rush by committee.Dee Tackle is the big question mark but Phil P. and his coaches find and use very athletic guys with trained up technique to stop the run.

Calling @Northside HawkMaybe Chuck Long because of that extra year he got to play. Didnt he start in four bowl games??? or maybe just 3 but lettered two other years also
Northside is going to be in and out the next eight days because he is spending the next eight days with 32 of his closest friends and family at a tropical paradise...Calling @Northside Hawk
Hankins will be a five year letterwinner barring injury this year.
Has anyone at Iowa (football or otherwise) ever lettered five times in the same sport? I went through the media guide and didn't see any football players who did but I could have obviously missed one. Chuck lettered four times.
Spencer Lee will probably end up with 6, but I'd think Hankins might be the first.
Have fun and catch a bunch of fish.Northside is going to be in and out the next eight days because he is spending the next eight days with 32 of his closest friends and family at a tropical paradise...
Chuck did start four bowl games and play in five, because he was grandfathered in on some retroactive redshirt rule that was implemented halfway through his career.
Not sure if Chuck lettered a fifth time but I do remember that he was eligible for the NFL draft coming off his 1984 Freedom Bowl and for six weeks it was a hotly contested debate as to whether he should return or go pro.
One of our excursions will be deep sea fishing. I'll have to report on all the happenings.
