New Big Ten setup: What division is tougher?

This would be the logical geographical setup of a new conference realignment. If so, what division would be toughest to win?

WEST
Iowa
Nebraska
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Illinois
Michigan State
Northwestern
(Notre Dame)

EAST
Ohio State
Michigan
Penn State
Indiana
Purdue
(Syracuse)
(Rutgers)
(Maryland)

Teams would play every team in your division every year and then play 2 teams from other division rotating the teams every 3 years. Then continue 3 non-conference games.

Iowa's rivalry games every year: IA/NE, IA/MN, IA/WI, IA/IL

IMO this would be great for IOWA if it is broke down this way. The other side might have bigger name power, but we have oviously shown that we can more than hold our own against Mich and Penn st.

If this is the way it pans out then Iowa will be contenders pretty regularly. So I guess not much will change...heh heh

Not that notre dame is a power but i would think they would be in the west division so ohio state, michigan, penn state and notre dame are not in the same division. Although i agree with the previous poster that it sets up nicely for iowa.

Penn State, yes. But Michigan? Really? How have we shown that we can "more than hold our own" against them? Michigan is TERRIBLE right now, but when they are back (and you better believe it's a matter of WHEN, not IF), they'll go right back to kicking us around much like Ohio State has. Sure, we've got a better track record against Michigan than we do against OSU, but that's like saying snails taste better than dog sh*t.

Oh, and I think OSU's division will be the toughest to win for everybody but OSU. But the West would be the deepest.

Notre Dame's a wildcard, you can bet they are going to negotiate someway to keep playing mich, msu, purdue, somehow, before they agree to join.
