I like the logo, but unfortunately the days of number-hiding are probably over. This expansion is more about a new kind of Big Ten and less about merely adding another team like with Penn State, expect that to be reflected in the new logo.

You can't change the name away from "the Big Ten", If they didn't do it in the 90s, they won't do it now. The Name is a Staple of what the Big Ten was and still is.

I think they change the name this time. But for now i think it stays the big 10, until they decide if or when they continue to expand. then all the members can decide on the name change.

Delany basically said yesterday the name Big Ten won't change, but they will ponder it. Said he assumed when Penn State came in that the name would change, but he quickly found out the name Big Ten means a lot to a lot of people.

He also is aware of the logo manipulation going on out there like the OP linked and finds it amusing. So they are most certainly thinking about using a design like that.
