Need some consistent short passing routes

Watching michigan today they have a lot of short sit down/curl routes to the TEs and running backs. Easy pitch and catch as the receiver is rather stationary, many on first down, to get into 2nd down and short. Need to get CJ in some rhythm and taking less hits. Also, if the receivers cant get open on their called for move they need to start working back to the QB or breaking deep, doing something to get open.

I would like to see the hawks really work on establishing a running game with this line and running backs. And also work in some simpler sit down and comeback routes to get a more efficient passing game.

Will never happen with GD. He much prefers throws outside the hashes. KOK was a big believer in the short dig routes, post routes, TE seam routes...he loved the middle of the field...

GD doesnt mind the slants and delayed crossing patterns to T Smith and Vandy last year and Vandy this year but you are correct.

GD simplified the playbook for Vince Young in '05. I don't think it would be a bad idea here either. Just get the ball out of CJ's hands quickly. Those shallow crossing patterns, slants that is all Texas did for a passing game in '05. Occasionally, GD would throw in wheel route where RB was the primary target.

Today RU just lined up and played tight man.....saying.....ok beat us. Iowa's WR could not get separation very often. I think we'll see more of that this season.

Seems to me that all a team has to do, is not self destruct and they can beat Iowa.

Going short in the middle of the field is easier when you have a QB that is 6'6" that can see over the line.

KOK > GD and it isn't even close. Regardless they are both were coaching with two arms tied behind their back
