Need a new scoreboard sound to strike fear in opponents- the hawk sqawk

I think, somewhat tongue in cheek, that the Kinnick experience needs a jolt by adding a sound effect on really big downs of something like flapping of wings followed by a ferocious hawk screech while the video board shows a hawk swooping down to claw a likeness or avatar of that day's opponent.

Penn St and K State have those cat growls, ISU has some loud sound that might be like a cyclone (not sure what it is), florida has a gator chomp and FSU has the chop.

What about this idea? Please add your thoughts for better game day sights and sounds to charge up the team and crowd (although the team probably doesnt need it).

No animal sounds ! I went to a Penn State game once and they played that soundbyte to death. After leaving the stadium, I had this urge to poach all wild cats in North and South American and burn their pelts at the steps of PETA. Then I went a got a beer and celebrated the Iowa victory and cats were okay again. But no animal sounds! I'd rather hear a loud crowd. Nothing rattles an opposing team more than not being able to communicate with each other because of how loud everyone is screaming.

We should go old school and have a giant hawk fly down a zipline and snag the opponents mascot.

I do sympathize as I was at that K State-Iowa game at Arrowhead in 2001 I think it was and that cat growl and the "Another K State first down" got old real fast.

They finally started playing some 3rd down music the last few home games of the yr in 2013. Right after Brian Ferentz called out the gameday experience.

I remember that too. Very irritating. K-State kicked Iowa Hawkeye butt, and over and over we had to hear "And it's another K-State FIRST DOWN!!!" as it went on.

I remember hating having my face rubbed in it, so to speak, but would enjoy it if we came up with something to use against our opponents that irked them as badly as that! LOL

I do like the scream of a great bird of prey...

Interesting observation. I dont know why they cant have some microphones in the marching band area to pipe their music thru the loud speaker.

I think it would be cool to have the band louder and louder

I believe the sound that iowa state plays is actually a compilation of oohs and ahhs from when mr dreamy came out and took a giant Sh it at midfield and pwoud paw proclaimed how pwoud he was. This was mixed in with a giant wookie call from pwoud paw that only a 3-9 season could produce as well as the sound of all their dou Che fans congratulating themselves on buying 99$ Season tickets and "not sucking as much as they use to be" and " being on their way to being a blue blood"

something korny. imagine 70,000 singing this

KAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW KAAAAAAAAAAWWWW KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW

I'm not opposed to the site of a hawk soaring high just before the game starts. Maybe A FEW WELL PLACED hawk shrieks to let those sob's know we mean business.

I always thought it would be cool to have a huge sculpture of a Hawk at the south end of the stadium so it could cast its shadow on the field.
