The right coach can win there again. As with any program to sustain a very high level and play for championships Nebby would need someone to instill toughness and a strong defense and special teams.
But right now it is great to see the hawks manhandle them when they should. Without a couple punt returns and a jump ball TD in the 4th qtr in 2014 the hawks would have 5 or 6 wins in a row against Nebby. Another thing ISU could never do.

Nebby has unrealistic expectations. As long as they're not in a recruiting hotbed it's going to be a yearly struggle to rise above mediocrity. Unless of course your name is Wisconsin. People in Lincoln forget that TO and Devaney won big under an entirely different system, never to be seen again. Riley has never been a consistent winner on the level that Nebraska expects. Personally I don't believe that Frost is the only qualified candidate to replace MR. There just seems to be this belief that Frost is their Harbaugh.

Agreed, the right coach can win there. Look no further than Evanston, IL. Patty fitz has less talent than Nebby
Yes and Fitz knows how to coach defense. His teams take away gaps and make other teams offense's play ugly.

I wonder if Nebraska would consider throwing a bunch of cash at Big Game Bob if they can't get Frost, Leech, etc.
