ncaa tourney tix

So, I'm planning on following the Hawkeyes to the NCAA tournament this year, should Iowa qualify. A couple of questions I wanted to ask of any NCAA tourney veterans out there, this will be my first trip if I can make it work.

1) How are tickets generally available? Can you purchase for one game, or do you have to purchase for multiple games (a la the Big Four Classic in Des Moines)

2) How comparable are tix on stubhub/seatgeek, etc., vs buying direct from the arena?

Any tips about travel, going to the game in general would be appreciated.

I have enough mileage points built up that my plane tickets are basically paid for already, no matter where the Hawkeyes go.

IMO they will put Iowa in Des Moines. But yes, you buy all session passes, they are pretty pricey but if you don't have to spend money on hotels or flights it's not bad.

Would they really put Iowa in Des Moines? That would be a huge home court advantage. I didn't think they liked to do that?

They would likely not put Iowa any where near Des Moines unless they are top 3 seed, which is not likely, so... I was joking about the DM part... man would that be great tho

Actually, I could totally see Ronald in Des Moines. Wouldn't surprise me. I could hear the booooooos all the way from my house four miles away.

Kind of random question regarding this topic....will alcohol be served at the Well during NCAA tourney this spring. I sure hope so.

Is it possible to buy afternoon or evening sessions? or is it all or nothing?

If you've gone in the past, what has scalping typically gone for. I'd like to be able to go for both games (assuming they win the first one :) ), but spending $400+ per whole day session makes me nervous.

Scalping won't be too bad as you will have fans of teams that had to buy for all sessions and they will sell off to the others. You will also be able to get Saturday tickets for reasonable as losing teams are leaving on Thursday. Definitely will be able to scalp way cheaper than the secondary market. Supply and Demand has some pretty dramatic shifts for single elimination tournaments. This is from my experience in Oklahoma City... Could be different in Des Moines since it hasn't been there before.

You can buy the morning session, afternoon session, or Day 2, or all three. They will clear WFA between sessions and make everyone come back in with their PM tickets. Tickets went on sale a while ago- I was able to lock up seats for all three sessions- but unless Iowa is a top 3/4 seed I wouldn't expect to see them there unless they fall into the 8/9 range (which is definitely possible).
