***NCAA Championship Finals Thread***

Ok, I didn't want to type while that was going on but Dake is a monster. He's fast and he's strong. Both of the stall calls were BS.

Agree he is a monster. Couldn't disagree more with you on the stall calls. Both totally legit.

At the end, it didn't matter though. Dake earned it with the escape, takedown, and the multiple returns to the mat in the third.

Got to tip my hat to Taylor though. I hate Penn St., but you can't help but respect the hell out of that kid.

I was very happy for St. John. He rode Welch the entire 2nd period. He did a great job there.
Dake almost rode Taylor the entire 2nd period. Dake was every bit as aggressive as St. Johns and DID NOT deserve a stalling call, nor did he deserve the stall call at the end of the match.

I said it when he decided to choose down, that he was nuts. I'm pretty sure Dake is still riding Molinaro. 2 guys you never go under: Dake and Nelson.

He was absolutely, 100% blocking off and backing out at the end of the match. The gear was stuck in "R". You could show that video as the definition of stalling.

It's sad that this is now accepted as legit wrestling. We've falling a long ways.

No problem with last stall call but first stall call was total BS. Dake was riding tough and trying to hang on for his life every time Taylor went into a scramble/roll. Dake was also being aggressive the majority of the time from the top position just as DSJ was against Welch.

What's killing the sport is when guy's like Chamberlain don't receive a single stall call even though he took only one total shot and that was in the 3rd period. He simply blocked off the entire match and then made one half hearted attempt at a shot.

Another crazy stat is that DSJ did not score a single TD in his semi & finals match and still came out as National Champ. His ride against Welch in the 2nd period was incredible.

Frankly, there's an epidemic growing. You could make an argument the less aggressive wrestler won at 174, 125, 133, 141, 157, and 165. 60%, not good.

I agree. Stalling is called far less now than ever. It was not called the entire tourney. Why start with the Dake match?

Dake stalled no more than St. Johns during his 2nd period ride.. St. Johns wasn't called, Dake was.
Dake's ride over Taylor was amazing. I would have bet a lot of money, no one could ride taylor like that.

Going back to the Dake match. When take was on top the stalling call was BS. When they were back on their feet it was a legitimate stall.

The problem with wrestling is it's become boring. They don't call stalling enough and they call stalemate too soon. It's killing the sport.
