NBA Playoff Thread

I think we have enough interest for a playoff thread and dont want to clog up the "Lakers eliminated" thread with talk about other teams.

Hawks pull even with the Bulls last night. Rose scored 32, but had to chuck up 34 shots to get it. Smith was an animal for Atlanta and I think Atlanta wins this series in 7.

I have no idea who to pick in the OKC/Memphis series but it is a fantastic series to watch.

Celtics/Heat resume tonight with the Celtics looking to even the series. I think they have a huge mental edge now after Bosh's comments after Game 3. KG played like a man and the effort Rondo gave after his injury was unbelievable. Hoping they can win tonight or else I think the Heat win in 5.

Any thoughts?

I think whoever wins Boston-Miami tonight, wins the series. That said I can't see Boston pulling it out, KG and Pierce played terrific games on Sat night, don't think they can be as good tonight with only one day of rest. LeBron and Bosh were terrible on Sat night, and the Celts got a huge emotional lift from Rondo. It will be interesting to see how effective Rondo can be with his injury, Miami needs to play Chalmers a lot and pressure Rondo from the time he crosses half court.

The Bulls will pull it out in six and the Grizzlies will beat OKC unless Russell Westbrook remembers he has Durant on his team and stops trying to take over every close game.

I wouldnt trust Lebron and Bosh in the playoffs any further than I can throw them. D Wade scares the crap out of me as a Celtics fan though.

They did come through in OT tonight. I am not saying it continues, but they did play well in OT.

I'm surprised they needed an overtime in this one. The Heat beat a team with a one-armed point guard and a very off (1 - 10 fg) Kevin Garnett. Heat also out-rebounded Boston 45 - 28. If you would tell me the Heat had these advantages plus 83 points from the big three I would say they won by 20+

That's a good point.

How about if I told you the rest of the team combined to score 15 points?

A stat was given during the game that the Heat were 46-9 when the big three scored at least 60 points combined. I get what you are saying, and I agree, but I would expect the Heat to win by much more than they did with the night James/Wade/Bosh had. The play by the other guys was the reason this one was even close.

Agree, but I'll take it. A win is a win. Now we'll see if Boston just rolls over in their elimination game like LA did. Really enjoying the playoffs so far with both Boston and LA getting knocked out this week.

I'm an LA fan and hate Boston but i guarantee they dont roll over like LA did. They might lose, but they wont get rolled up

LeBron came through for 53 minutes tonight. He was the reason Miami won

Lebron was relatively quiet in the 2nd half. He had 2 points in the 3rd quarter and that came with less than a min left in the quarter. Hats off to the the Heat's big 3 as they all contributed big time last night.

It will go 7 if Boston wins tomorrow but that is a huge if. Miami either wins in 5 or in 7.

Allen and KG both shot the ball terrible last night. This team misses Perkins. Shaq, Jermaine Oneal and Big Baby havent produced much during the playoffs.

So you're a Boston fan, what the hell happened to Big Baby this year? He was one of the best bench guys in the league last year and he's terrible this year.

I have no clue. All I know is this team lost a good chunk of its mojo when Perkins got shipped to OKC. Baby was a beast last year in the playoffs. This year his production is next to nothing.

I dont know why Ainge thought they could win a title with the 2 Oneals, Krstic and Baby playing the 5. Shaq is done, Jermaine barely played during the regular season and is just getting owned by Anthony.

Barring a miracle comeback in this series the Celtics are done this year and this may have been their nucleus last real shot at a title.
