Nate Stanley Learning Hard Lessons on Job for Hawkeyes

Nate Stanley has started his career with 15 touchdowns against just two interceptions. To think Iowa's sophomore quarterback is just scratching the surface of his upside is an exciting though for the Hawkeyes:

I still think this was Wiegers job and he is the real leader on the team.
He hasn't stepped on a football field in almost 2 years, tell us why you think it's his job. They both equally looked like total ass in the spring game, so unless you have insider knowledge of practice and have asked the other players who they think is their leader you're going by your gut. I trust a P5 coach's gut (even the crappy ones) more than yours.

Well,we have anecdotal evidence from past KF decisions.

I think he's trolling...but since you said it, who are these crappy ones you're referring to? Like, the Iowa coaches? They've had a nice lil run with QB's here lately FWIW.

There are several Shrek wanna be's but he isn't one of them. One of them has a V and a D for initials.

He’s not trolling.

Not referring to any in particular, just stating that I’d trust the gut feeling of Rutgers’ equipment managers before his.

BB was a juco - not shocking he didn't win out over a returning starter - JC lost his job to a sophomore. I just don't see how you hang him for those, especially when he did get it right.

Fair enough - yeah, if they are coaching above a HS level then they probably know more then I do

NS was more loose and relaxed talking with us today. He gave some insightful answers and just seemed more comfortable.

I think he's starting to feel that way on the field as well. If you think about it, he's only been on campus for about 17 months. What he's doing is pretty impressive. He'll never be perfect and he has room to grow, but he has a chance to do some big things here.

Dark side is strong with this one.

If he is and he continues to grow, this season, then I truly don't care what our records ends up being. We will have the best qb in the conference (and potentially the country) on our team and we should be able to make a huge push. Iowa's offense must go through NS's arm. Period.

Good perspective. But I gotta say....at 17 months on campus I was... well, ok, not gonna post all of that here.

NS will be fine. Kid's got talent... and we have a couple of solid guys behind him. What the coaches DO...with him (them) is a bigger factor. QB coaching has never been the forte of KFz's program
