??????
Two names that shouldn't be mentioned in the same paragraph.
May I ask why?
May I ask why?
How to run up the score............oh, was this supposed to be serious?
Sure, my family and I watched the game at our friend's house tonight. After Iowa went up 27-7 in the 4th, we left to go home. I listened to the game on the radio actually in awe that, after dominating a bad team for 3.5 quarters, Iowa gives up two very quick touchdowns and allowed the outcome of the game to be in doubt.
This would not have happened with a Fry coached team. And this is just one example. This happens all the time with kf. I was so happy that GD called a good game tonight and Iowa was putting the clones away. Then, the usual happened. No, they didn't lose, but the way a kf team behaves in the second half is the same, win or lose. I mean, this is a win that feels like a loss in a way. I am so SICK of a kf coached team never finishing a game strong. You've already seen in happen three times in three games this season with a huge history of this happening.
The above is just one reason why he should not be mentioned with coach Fry.

Yeah, I get all that and your frustrations. But still not sure why they can't be mentioned in the same breath. They are both long time Iowa coaches that have had rough seasons and have had great championship seasons...and have about the same win %. That all said I understand your angst and match your distaste with the teams ability to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Hayden is a Legend but don't let your frustration if recent years cloud the fact that the W/L column for the two coaches is about the same (to be clear I don't think KF matches Fry overall) but the gap isn't so big that they can't be mentioned together.
Ferentz can't close out a game which his team has dominated. Sometimes it just gives us heartburn, sometimes it results in an inexplicable loss.
It's atrocious, and I'm done with it. Fry would have walked off that field with the scoreboard reading 34-7 or 41-7 or worst case scenario 27-14.
Klassy Kurt? Well, I told my viewing mates to brace when it was 27-7. They were already celebrating. I caught a lot of crap for being a "hater."
I'll tell you what I hate. I hate being proven right game after game, year after year about Kurt's pathological inability to close out games his team has dominated.
You do realize that Hayden had a bigger mountain to climb? So your use of W/L % seems to be a poor comparison. Hayden also owned the weaker teams in the B1G and non-BCS conference schools. I can't think of a good reason that shouldn't be true from 1999-present.
