Sam Richardson played a much better game than Jake Rudock, Sam made plays and their receivers made yards after catch, ours didn't.


The Hawks should have kept running Wiseman, this revolving door of running backs is not working.


Throw deep, better yet, give C.J. a chance to play a half.


Play to win!!!!


Somebody among the players must step up and be a vocal leader, we do not have that and without that this team has no heart, none at all.


Even if we are throwing short, throw the ball north and south, not east and west.
 
I think they intended to throw deep against UNI and ISU. The problem is that Jake does not see the WR's. How can QBs all over America make down field passing plays and Jake 2.0 goes back to pass and does not make the mid-to-deeper throws. I think the plays are being called many times. He aint getting it done.

This is what blows my mind. This is why I think CJB needs to play more, he can most likely could have at least played to the point that defenses would have to defend better downfield. Leaving more check downs or QB scrambles/draws available.

Jake either knows he can't make the throws or just won't do it. Kirk loves his respect for being risk adverse for turnovers which is the only reason he starts and plays.
 
We either have really bad receivers, a qb who can't see the field, or ISU has a Seattle Seahawk type secondary. I have a pretty good guess on which one it is. How many times can you drop back to pass, have all the time in the world, and not find anyone? While playing the ******* cyclones?
 
During the Ball State game, they tried to throw deep a few times. Was anyone else scratching their head about why we were throwing over the top to #89 ? We have all of these talented, tall, fast WRs and he's not one of them.

What I don't get about the offense is the poor use of personnel. Most of our players have a good skillset. But watching Vandeburg run after perfectly thrown deep balls with outstretched alligator arms infuriated me. We exclusively throw to Smith and Manley if the ball travels less than 4 yards downfield. But we'll happily watch the deep ball to the skinny, slow kid.

How many times this year has Willies been targeted and what's the average result of a pass thrown his way? I just don't understand why our offensive coaches won't use the players in ways that best make use of their skills. If Vandeburg can play (and I'm not ******* sold on that), let him run underneath routes to move the chains. If we're trying to take the top off, throw it up to an athlete that can make a play on the ball. Throw it up to Willies, not Vandeburg
 
I've got a good idea. Let's line up Powell and Willies to the left to make it look like something cool is about to happen, then throw a quick pass to the right to Vandeberg.
 
Lost all credence when you said keep running Weisman. He went for 3 yds a rush. He isn't the best rb. Canzeri might be hurt but easily looks the best of the rbs.

Won't work. They'll see that coming from a mile away.
 
You sort of know where you stand as a team when UNI, Ball State, and ISU baffle you with their powerful defenses and your offense has no answer.
 
Message to Kirk Ferentz show some emotion even if you just lay down on the sideline and roll around like an epileptic, at least I can see some emotion!

If this staff can't get it done then find some that can.

I am ashamed, it is despicable what went down in the 2nd half of that game, it is despicable, coaches choked, these players choked I won't name the players who choked, but there are a bunch of them in Iowa City they ought to be ashamed of themselves they absolutely gagged, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH choke!!!!! This team has talented athletes but they played with no emotion, they would choke on APPLESAUCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I'm tired of this, just tired of this. I spend thousands of dollars a year to watch what? A choke job? I'm disgusted.

I did my job, I did the most a fan could do I cheered my *** off, I had people standing up high fiving in the first half, I lost my voice cheering, I can't even talk today!. I did my job I did not choke, they did.

I don't care about the emotion thing. I think PR's theatrics are a disgrace. Do you want your Captain panicking when the line is breached? A steady leader can have a fortifying effect. What I do want is someone who can lead an effective attack. This guy can't.

Agreed. Weisman is a fullback who was switched to running back out of necessity a few years ago. In my opinion they need to switch him back there and put him at RB in special situations only. We need guys who can break off a big play at RB, guys who are a real threat to go 60 yds on a play and that isn't Weisman. Canzeri and Daniels should get the bulk of the carries at RB.
