My thoughts on the DC hire deserve a thread of their own

Here are some thoughts I have on the hire that I have not seen in any of the other 25 threads.

1. Why wait so long to make a hire?
2. This hire is stale, the program needs new blood.
3. Nothing will ever change, and we will continue to get worse.
4. The only good coaches are those outside of the program.
5. Waiting so long has irreparably hurt recruiting for a decade.
6. Do you think Brian Ferentz will get hired?

Please discuss, as these are important topics that have not yet been addressed.
 
Why would anyone be surprised that Parker got the job? It was a done deal the day Norm retired. KF was required to go through the motions.

I noticed you have written this in several existing threads. It would be helpful to everyone if you just opened a new thread to share this totally logical info.
 
Seriously, though. He has a point. Why the **** are you people starting new thread after thread? When no one responds to your post in a thread you feel the need to go make a new one?

Need some admins out here to do some merging.

This thought needs it's own thread, but I'll bump it instead.
 
Going through the motions requires a two month hiring process that basically amounted to nothing more than a staff reshuffling? Wow--Iowa must have the most stringent hiring standards in the nation, if not the world.

Very disappointing day in every respect, but certainly not at all surprising.

Or rather an unsubtle attempt to point out people's tendency towards knee-jerk, emotional reactions, disposition for mob-mentality thought (or lack thereof), and the always delightful "me first" attitude.

If you listen carefully you too can hear the gentle wooshing sound as that point flies sadly unnoticed past so many.

It's getting to the point where Gary needs to clean house and start fresh. Or.....we can keep the same people we have had the last decade and try to go to the Insight Bowl three years in a row, yaaaaa!

Anything of value? I found more information of value in my morning stool than I have read the past three years on these boards.

Dude, it's gonna take a miracle to get to the Insight Bowl this year - we have a LOT of young players and will be very inexperienced. And then in 2013, we will likely be breaking in a new QB, so we'll lose a few games we maybe shouldn't have lost. 2014 will prolly be decent, though. Just wait it out, man.

Of course I'm right. Looking at 2012, I would guess we will have clearly better talent than prolly Indiana and Northwestern (though I think they have 2 QBs who are better than ours), maybe Minnesota. But the other 5 B10 games - there ain't a gimme in there. ISU ain't a gimme. The team could have a hard time hitting 6-6 - Iowa teams that turn over the whole d-line generally are pretty bad. I just hope you proles can not go after the coaching staff when we lose games because we are young. Unless a couple of the young guys are absolute studs and ready to go from day 1 (very unlikely), we are gonna have some ugly games in 2012.
