My family away from home.

I am still wearing my Iowa Hawkeye sweatshirt, hat and t shirt, and I'll wear them proudly tonight. I have an amazing family, and I would like to think of the Iowa football team as another type of "family". I have cheered for them since I had the ability to cheer. I know this is the old apples to oranges comparison, but when something negative happens in my own family, we still love and support without conditions. We have the ability to make changes in our family when they are needed, and address issues to repair holes in our family. Unfortunately, we don't have the ability to make any when we root for our favorite team. We can be upset, bewildered, disgusted, nauseous, etc...but I still have to support my family. I am not "done" nor will I ever be "done" with this team. Am I disgusted, upset, hell yes, but my love for Iowa football has no conditions. My life would have a lot of emptiness (sports-wise) in it if it werent for this school and this team. Go Hawks...in good and in bad!! Win a bowl game and start fresh next fall.

Good reminder. We are all letting our passion pour through today. Iowa has rabid fans and when the Hawks lose it is a tough pill to swallow. Maybe it comes with age, but at the end of the day, you move on and realize you still love the Hawks -- flaws and all ...

This is a message board. Let eveyone vent tonight and maybe even tomorrow, then get everyone back on the bandwagon for the bowl game and next year.

I agree but if a member of your family had an amazing talent and decided to coast through life with minimal effort it's hard to stomach.

I just hope these players start playing with the love, passion, effort and pride that we expect from an Iowa team.
