100 miles allowed daily! LOL. It will take you 2 weeks to get down there and 2 weeks to get back. Hope you guys have some vacation time stacked up!

(you can go over 100 miles a day, but it costs you $.25/mile.)

That is effing hilarious.

Just for fun I quoted an RV down and back from Des Moines from 12/27 to 1/3. $2400

You can fly down and get a damn good resort for that price.

Why aren't we flying? Because getting there is half the fun. You know that.

I'm taking the clan down in the family truckster myself.

This is the kind of thing where if you have to ask about the money you can't afford it. That being said, I would think that you rent something like that for a trip, so the 100 mile cap would seem like a deal breaker no matter what.

The fuel alone would kill you, usually 7-10 mpg for a 2800 mile trip..if you do the math plane tickets and nice hotel rooms seem like an absolute steal.

Fly, get a good resort, play 3 rounds of golf and eat Surf and Turf every night for that price.

I looked at the RVs....they aren't expecting 6 adults to share living space in those things...are they? You would almost certainly have to get a hotel down there as well. That would be uncomfortable as hell.

If I had the money to spend $3500 on this trip...it wouldn't be used to rent an RV and drive there. :D :D

I can roll in HappyChef's rig any time I want to. It took on a little water this past summer in the floods, but they pulled the shag out and put some astroturf down and the flood smell is over 90% gone. So I am not going to rent from you.
