I'm thinking conspiracy theory. How many teams have scooter accidents that we DON'T hear about this year??...shame too...he would have been starting by mid season too...

Considering how prevalent scooters are among football players and other athletes, and considering the safety issues involved in riding a dinky little machine on a street filled with 2000lb+ hunks of steel traveling at anywhere from 1-40mph... I'm really not surprised by these incidents.

The issue is campus location. For campuses that are right in the heart of their respective cities, and where the students deal with local traffic, this is going to happen. If the campus is segregated, and they restrict access to the roads during the day, this is less common. Iowa has lecture halls seperated by malls. I am surprised this doesn't happen more often.
