Very interesting comments and articles from these two sites. I didn't post any because there are just too many.
In no article or discussion is ISU included in the discussions when talking about realignments. Articles/posts talk about Kansas, KSU, and Missouri as potentially joining other conferences like the Big East/SEC/Pac-12. No where is ISU mentioned as a potential member.
If the Big 12 collapses, Isu is screwed. They are not going to be able to hang onto any coattails and get included into other BCS conferences. It will be every school for themselves and Isu carries no leverage or promise to any of the BCS conferences.
Isu will be MW, CUSA, or MAC bound...those conferences will be their only choices AND they might not really have much of a choice there either. Isu just does not have anything to add to other conferences except a very big and hungry mouth to feed. Isu's negatives outweigh the positives in so many categories.
