Minnesota Pregame/Tailgating

I am going to the Minnesota game for the first time at TCF Bank. I have read that tailgating is not very good there. I am also not very familiar with the area around the stadium in regards to places to go prior to games. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've been up there twice and both times the parking pass I got with the tickets was for a parking garage. You are correct that there is very little tailgating around TCF. I'm assuming to get into the lots that do you need a pass. I was going to suggest you just park somewhere and head two blocks south of the stadium to Sally's for grub and beers as that place was jam packed full of Iowa fans in 2011 however their website said they are closed for remodeling. I guess there are a few more bars around there and if anything when in doubt there is a Buffalo Wild Wings directly across the street from TCF.

As far as I can see on that website they are selling parking passes but unless you want to shell out $300+ for a pass in a tailgate lot you may be out of luck.

Park at the State Fairgrounds in St Paul. Tons of Hawk fans there in 2011 and there is a shuttle that takes you from there and drops you off right in front of TCF. I cant remember if its free or they charge something like 5 bucks. The shuttle is only about a 7 or 8 minute ride.

We also didnt deal with any traffic after the game heading back to I-35.

This is right on. I have used this facility and the tailgating and the transport are first class...as is the exit after the game. go Hawks!

Park at the MN State Fairgrounds and ride the shuttle. And sing 'on Iowa' on the bus to rile the Goof fans. And stop losing to bad Goof teams up there.

"Hawks To Go" will be in Lot 33, SE corner. If you have not seen the Hawks To Go tailgate before, stop by and tell us you're a virgin. We have a special treat for you!

5 Days, 7 Hours, 40 minutes and counting

This....easy to get to....easy to park...easy to get out. Shuttles drop you off in front of the stadium and are there after.
