I haven't been up to TCF Bank before, but will be this Fall.

I am hearing that parking near stadium is limited, thereby making tailgating also tough.

For those who have made the trip, I would appreciate any advice on location, etc.

I went in 2010 and 2011 (glutton for punishment). Both times when I bought the tickets online they also came with a parking pass. Both were in a parking garage. You are correct though, there are very few tailgating areas.

We parked at the State Fairgrounds in St Paul. Free shuttles run before the game and after the game directly to the front of TCF. Its only about a 8-10 minute ride on the shuttle. Huge lot up at the fairgrounds and there was a bunch of Hawk fans for the 2011 game.

That's what I did as well. Big lot, good for tailgating, constant shuttles running to and from the stadium. Only cost $10 which is nice when I usually pay 20-30 in IC.

Can RVs park at the fairgrounds too? Do you just pay that day or can you buy a parking pass ahead of time?? Thanks

Go Hawks

This is what we do as well. I usually have coworkers I can get a pass from, not sure about if you can drive up and pay. I'm assuming so..

I was there both years and am also a glutton for punishment. One year I had a parking pass and the other time I took a taxi from hotel. I do not plan on tailgating this year. There are plenty of bars close by and I enjoyed just doing the bar scene before 2011 game.

Went to the game in 2011 with a group of six. We paid a little extra and got parking passes for the Minnesota Season Ticket Holder / Donor Lot, literally located right up against the stadium. Got there super early, expecting catch hell as we fought our way through the Gopher fans for a good spot. Turns out, we were the first ones there. By hours. Anyway, it turned into a good ol' Hawkeye party, and the extra money spent was well worth it. Except for the game of course.
