Miles...

I suppose if he's wanting to get back into coaching right away his options are pretty few and far between at this point.

If he gets the gig, I'll go on record that his success will be 100% on the staff he puts around him. I don't think he's a great coach, but this will be a good test.

Very interested to see how he could recruit to minny.

He has always been able to recruit well, but his stubbornness led to his downfall at LSU. They gave him a second chance to improve the offense by keeping him around for this season, but he made zero changes with the offense and got himself canned. If only we would do that with Davis...

Did he just get the talent because it was LSU? Or is he legitimately a good recruiter? I honestly don't know. Either way, it's going to be way more difficult to recruit to Minny than it was for LSU.

This doesn't make any sense. LSU assigned blame correctly and you want us to assign blame incorrectly. BTW, if our offense sucks next year whose fault is it for not firing Davis?

The Iowa football program was much better offensively under O'Keefe than it has been under Davis. The program was also more successful in general. Ferentz was a constant between the two so no I definitely assign more blame to Davis.

I know it sounds crazy but Minnesota's final decision between Fleck and Lester Miles will be a proxy fight, a referendum if you will on whether Ken O'Keefe was better than Greg Davis.

Despite Miles' trip to Minny...at least one sports station up here is reporting they expect Fleck to be named as soon as tomorrow.

While I agree with you to some extent. The football world has changed a lot since KOK. Iowa's offensive has failed to change with it.

It's called Norm Parker you twit.

This is blasphemy....a school actually said "stop being so stubborn and make some changes or you're gone?" and then followed thru with it? I don't believe in fairy tales

They use the metric system in Canada, and Minnesota is right next to Canada. So Miles never had a chance.

The sacrificial lamb is gone.

Cirk: "Hey, we have a new OC in 2017. Everyone adjust their expectations accordingly. Remember 2012?"

IMO 2017 is on Cirk and not whoever the new OC is.
