Wow... There is no reason why he should still be allowed to coach after those videos come out. If he isn't fired, he will wish he was after the negative effect it will have on recruiting.
 
Dude needs help.....seriously. It's one thing to get angry and yell at a player. It's another thing entirely to put your hands on a player or fire basketballs at them. If I'm a player, the first time he fires a ball at me, I pick it up and throw it right at his f'ing nose.
 
The thing that gets me most, as a highschool coach myself, is it doesn't even seem to phase the players. I come from a program in which respect for both the players and the coach is a mutual thing and I simply can't understand how you could treat the athletes (who are responsible for your success) like that. It makes me sick.

Edit: I might add that IMO the respect of the players is the only thing that prevents him from getting the curb stomping that he deserves.

no surprise, Rice is an intense guy. I played in a summer league game against him and he was calling his own team names throughout the game and its a summer league game with 40 year old men! Not his players mind you, his peers. Frankly, we all wanted to punch him in the mouth just to shut him up.

This came to light a couple months ago, he was suspended for three games. Not sure any further discipline is planned. So far hasn't cost him any players.
 
Wow, that's really awful.

Guy looks like he's got problems - needs to be relieved of his duties so he can get serious help.
 
I'm sure Mike Rice thinks he is respected by the players, but I think he has respect and fear confused.
 
I love how he just chucks balls at their feet like its nothing. I hoped someone would've cherry bombed one back at him.
 
I seened a story about this on NBC Nightly News. They showed part of the espn video. This story is far from over now.
