1. The artificial turf you see today plays nowhere near as fast as AstroTurf (which is what St. Louis has/had when Martz was there).2. No thank you. Quarterbacks in his offenses take a beating, and we don't have much in the way of quarterback depth right now.
Marshall Faulk said the reason Martz didn't do that well in Chicago is because he didn't have the talent he's used to. You really think he'd get that in Iowa City?
Now that Kinnick has had turf for a couple years he can really bring back his "Greatest Show on Turf" offense again, instead of that cruddy grass my Bears insist on in Soldier.

they only take a beating when the line isnt very good. kurt warner seemed to stay upright quite a lot. martz doesnt want to run enough for kf. plus martz says he is retired.
