Why does everyone think that all Ferentz does is hire within the program? If he had to hire a new coordinator, I think he would hire the best candidate for the job, even if that person isn't in the program right now. Since he has never hired a new coordinator, I don't see any precedent that says he would only look to promote within the program for a coordinator position.

It really would be nice to have a guy who can actually produce an occasional NFL qb. Many other B10 schools are able to; Iowa should be capable as well.
