Mike Leach to coach at New Mexico??

New Mexico probably couldn't get any worse under the current regime...Leach might give them a fighting chance within a few years if this report is accurate.

Locksley was the Zooker's ace in the hole with recruiting. Could see the Zooker trying to get him back in the fold. Too bad for him it will be too late.
 
nah, Illinois will pull 4-5 out this year, just enough to let the Zook capture the bishop and live off of the 2007 season one more year
 
If I am Mike Locksley, and there is ANY truth to this, why wait? You can be sure UNM will present him in a poor light vis-a-vis his "suspension" and "behavior".

Locksley needs to start looking NOW, not Sunday after the game.
 
Just keep the sheds and closets locked so he's not tempted to imprison the sons of obnoxious college football commentators in them.
 
I think Leach is more than capable of being successful wherever he goes. It was pretty impressive what he did at Texas Tech. If I was him I'd pass on a job like New Mexico. I think he is worthy of a major conference school. I think there may be a few openings in the Big Ten at the end of the season. MN/IL/Purdue even Indiana - although I think Lynch is good for them. I'd like to see him at IL or MN, preferably IL as I like being able to beat up on Minny
 
NM would owe Lockesly $3 million and then they have to turn around and pay someone like Leach how much? NM doesn't have that kind of money.

Plus Alford wants to be top dog in this town so he would want another raise. They wouldn't want to make Stevie throw a tantrum...he insists this is a bb town. He might not allow them to hire a good fb coach...
