Might PAC10 Change Force Notre Dame's Hand?

Notre Dame is scheduled to play at least 2 PAC 10 teams the next several years, with the exception of 2012. They also have a home and home scheduled with Oklahoma in 2012 and 2013. Who will ND play if the PAC adds 6 teams? Will this force ND to join a conference?

Just depends. If the conferences start gravitating toward becoming super conferences the amount of conference games played undoubtedly will go up. We may get into a situation where teams only play two maybe three non conference games. Teams will be looking to schedule more cupcakes because conference schedules are going to get harder. I don't think there will be as many people lining up to play ND in this new world we may be heading into.

I agree but the fact they play 2 pac 10 teams matters not, if the big east crumbles they have no choice.

They got to be smart enough to realize that they have no choice at some point, I just don't hope we don't go to 16 teams and 10 years from now they change there minds and force us to go to 18 teams.

Check out Notre Dame's schedule in the next couple of years. It's filled with Big Ten, Pac Ten, and Big 12 opponemts. Something's got to give.

If the Pac-10 goes to 16, they will probably add one or more conference games. The same goes for the Big Ten. This may ultimately force ND to into the Big Ten. ND could potentially have 4 teams they currently play in the Big Ten: Mich, MSU, Purdue and Pitt.
