While, I will not be going(have to pick my battles lol) I will be home with my kids and try to do some live updates for you guys. I will be listening on the radio and doing what I can that way hopefully USA can just work on taping some matches for us because he will be there!
 


Sorry you can't make it Tobini. I'm gonna make it in. My first Midlands.
I would've been glad to say hi and buy you a cold one. I've got a rain check with your name on it though!
 


I haven't been able to find anymore sites providing coverage. I'll be listening over the internet and catching any video that gets posted. Thanks in advance for live updates!

I'll be there live blogging for The Open Mat and will more than likely be spending time with USAF. Guessing we'll help each other with coverage. Lot of matches for 1 person to keep an eye on.

Waiting to here from NU if video will be allowed for early rounds. BTN flexed it's muscle a bit and will show the finals on delay but NU is trying to work out something for Flo and TOM to be able to post video as well.

Coach Pariano responded to my email that Flo would be providing coverage but he didn't specify. I visit their site every day to look for updates (I also emailed them but they didn't respond).

Yep. Like I said. BTN started flexing muscle on the coverage (I'm guessing with Flo) before I asked about video. Said he would keep me in the loop on what he knows.
 


Kwood,I would have no problem drinking a cold one with you! I Should be at the Big Tens and Nationals in Phili. FF and Myself will probably head out to Big Ten's together and have USA join us on the second day. As for Nationals I turned in 1 week of vacation due to it being so far away! I just need FF to make up his mind if I am going with him or not.

On a different site, a knowledgeable poster reminded us that the take down site tends to meander on, do interviews, etc. rather than covers any live matches. And of course they are not Iowa centered as we are.
 


Guys i just got a message from Jon informing me that our credentials were denied, so I don't think I will be able to cover the event in a official forum. I will be there and do what I can as a spectator. Sorry.
 


Thanks for trying USAF. I would've thought being a Hawkeye fan would be enough credentials to get you approved :)
 




This is just like National Duals 2 years ago (I believe it was the Cornell v Iowa finals match) when ESPN shutdown livesportsvideo so they could tape delay the finals by a week and a half. It's the same vicious cycle, fans get the results and half don't tune in to the tape delayed coverage. Then networks claim the ratings arent there to justify live coverage. Thus the sport gets less live coverage and less exposure.
 


How do you say the sport gets "less live coverage?" College wrestling live coverage has increased x10 over the last few years. Tons more on ESPN as well as the Big Ten Network. Not to mention all the live blogs, Takedown Radio, flo, and livesportsvideo.

So your saying that Flow IS allowed to cover Midlands now? I thought BTN was barring them.
