Michigan's pass D.

I predicted the Iowa Penn St. game would be a 24-3 Iowa victory. Of course I can't gloat about it since I didn't post my prediction. So I'm making a prediction about the Michigan game: Stanzi throws for over 350 yds, 3 TD's and no picks.

His highest game is below 300 and his average is a little below 250 ypg. Considering Michigan's defense, this might be a slight underestimate. The only way he doesn't hit those yards is if we have a healthy lead entering the fourth and run to burn the clock.

I hope you're right, but Stanzi throwing for 350? I'll believe that when I see it. I do agree with you on the 3 tds though.

Cousins only had 280 or so and their a much more pass happy team then we are. IMO the only way stanzi racks up those kind of numbers is if michigan totaly stops our run game. Michigan will blitz and blitz often so were going to have to hope that we see more screens and draws and slants as we wont have time for 5 step drops and long drawn out play action. If anything its going to be alot of stuff to the tight ends, which is perfectly fine with me.

Michigan gambles alot. It burns them both on the ground and through the air.

They blitz alot to both stop the run and pass. The thing to do is be patient and big plays happen.

Beware,no lead seems to be enough against this team. One thing I noticed is they can move the ball in big chunks very fast.We need our D to step up big time this week.

Which, incidentally, worked pretty well for Arizona...

KOK needs to have a good week.

Up until the MSU game the really hadn't. Against Indiana they rushed 3 a lot fo the time.

I don't know if that's necessarily true. Through 6 games, Cousins has attempted 145 passes, while MSU's attempted some 191 rushes with Caper, Bell and Baker combined.

Through 5 games, Stanzi has attempted 121 passes, while Iowa's has 154 rushes by all five of our running backs combined (Robinson, Hampton, Coker, Rogers and Paki).

But I do agree that it's unlikely we'll see Stanzi racking up huge number of yards. Though, if the game is somewhat close and the run game isn't working, then perhaps Stanzi would be in, throwing through all four quarters?

Given Iowa's defense, it is easy to predict that Michigan's offense will be collecting a lot of bench time Saturday. And having accepted that, then it is easy to accept that Ricky will get 300+ yards on Saturday. Against Michigan's defense, McNutt, DJK and Adam Robinson could all have a career day.
