How much does this hurt Iowas BCS ranking? Losing to lowly Illinois has got to take some points away from the strength of schedule.

That was the first thing i thought of when i saw that they lost. Obviously them winning would have been better but before this week they were only 5-3. Not a great record so i think with them losing it wont hurt too much considering wiscy and psu both won as well.

the hard thing to do right now is cheer for OSU, Penn St, Wisconsin, and whoever else we have already beat... hell we needed USC to win last night... i think our SOS took a major hit yesterday... look for iowa to drop in the polls

Ideally, we need Illinois and Purdue to lose every game they play because we play everyone else. Since we don't play those 2, having them lose every game (by default) means that the other B10 teams are getting fat by feasting on them, pushing their W/L record up and increasing our SOS. Every B10 game they (Purdue and Illinois) win is a slight hit to our SOS.
