Michigan State is coming...

There should be plenty of hawkeye fans this week and going forward, happy that Iowa has managed to get the target off there back, since some think thats when Iowa plays its best. Iowa, has managed to take the target off its back, and dashed the lofty early expectations laid on them. Plenty of fans will appreciate the fact that Iowa is out of the national limelight so to speak. Back to "overcoming odds" as some would say. I, for one, was still devastated by the loss on Sat., even more so then the AZ loss, but gained a little prespective tonight to finally "turn my page." This is a PROGRAM changing game for Michigan State in there eyes. Take that into perspective. When was the last PROGRAM changing game Iowa played in. I would have to definately say '08 Penn St. game hands down. Iowa rattled off a truly impressive win streak that vaulted them back into the national picture again.

I realize vegas has us as a favorite for this game, where as in '08 we were underdogs, but we have the #5 ranked team in the country coming to town this weekend. That's 3 days away folks. I realize the team and probably most of you fans are probably much more capable of flushing last week then I was, but it is definately time to realize what is in front us. This Michigan State team is coming in, playing what in essence is there biggest game in the last century or longer(IMO), not to mention the way last seasons game ended probably has that bad taste back in there mouth. We need to match the intensity of the stadium last weekend and hope that a win on Sat., when we look back, is maybe OUR program changing game, and the game that propelled us to OUR next level. That level might be a goal for next season at this point, but who knew how important the '08 Penn St. game was for the future???

Sounds like a great game for a BLACKOUT!
GO HAWKS!

I agree that this is a huge game for both teams. Most likely a Michigan State win in this game equals them running the table and possibly even playing for the National Championship if a couple of things break right.

For Iowa, this will be a season changer. If they beat Michigan State they can get back in the Big Ten/Rose Bowl hunt, and also look to finish in the top 10 once again. A loss drops the Hawks out of the rankings and out of the national eye for the rest of the season. Couple that with a possible rebuilding year next year and it may be a while before the Hawks are back in the spotlight.

It's a huge game this weekend with a lot of short-term and long-term ramifications. Hopefully the team, and the fans, bring their A game to Kinnick this weekend.

This is biggest game of KF era with a lose it is looking like 7-5 and with a win can still compete for a big ten title. GO Hawks!!

Where is 7-5 coming from? Losses to MSU, OSU and NW? I'd like to think at worst 8-4. I still think we get NW this year.

If Iowa plays pass defense like they have the last two games, 7-5 is easy to see...very easy. Cousins will pick Iowa apart if Iowa does not do anything different... MSU will score 35 quite easy. Cousins and MSU will do whatever he wants if Iowa lets him sit in the pocket like they did Tolzien all game. Oh, Iowa will stop the run but that will matter little if Iowa gives their recievers 3 to 5 yard cushions and leaves them wide open like we have been doing. The Wisconsin receivers were unbelievably wide open and were at times just standing there wide open. If the Iowa defense allows that with MSU, MSU may very well put up more than 35 points and MSU is going to want this game very very badly so they will be going for it on 4th downs and doing whatever it will take to win. Iowa on the other hand will be their ultraconservative selves and will not take any chances out of the ordinary. I look for MSU to win going away...
