Michigan Game An 11am Start

Sucks for us.

Our high school's homecoming is next Friday and my son (15) and my buddy's daughter (12) both want to go to the game. Our options are:

1) Say screw homecoming and leave after work Friday (this is what he and I want to do)

2) Leave town at 10PM-ish after the HS game and get to IC at 3AM

3) Go home and sleep till 3:30, leave at 4AM, and hope when we roll into town at 9AM that with traffic we can even get to our tailgate spot to park.

We both wish our kids didn't have any school spirit.

I would skip the homecoming game if I were you. I'm pretty sure they're gonna add more teams to the conference from out west and there will be a couple of regional protected games, but Michigan ain't gonna be on that list for Iowa so this could be some shit where you only get to see Michigan in Iowa City once every 8 years or whatever so I really wouldn't F around with rolling the dice on gameday traffic. It's also not safe for people your age to drive overnight.

Those of us who are Gen X and older know how important this game is.

Well, I was hoping for a later start to appease some friends who have been trying to get together with my wife and I, but I am just going to have to push that off again! :D

I need to see the Rutgers game first, before I determine my feelings on Michigan. I know Iowa will compete...but will it be enough to win it?
