Miami now going after Darian Cooper

Seems to me the Miami coaches are pulling out all stops to salvage their recruiting year.
As of last night Miami had 12 recruits committed. A few have baled on them and Golden came in way late in the recruiting. They will try to steal anything they can. I respect UM but they are playing catch up and will go after recruits that are committed to try and salvage some quality players. Cooper will be a Hawkeye.

Mister you're a better man than I.

Greg Mattison, Michigan's new DC visited Cooper's school and has an in-home with him tonight. The Michigan boards say he's visiting this weekend.

As much crap as Iowa takes over the college football season, most coaches know that Iowa is the best evaluator of talent in the country. That is why they jump on our recruits. NFL head coaches have said repeatedly that Iowa players are the best prepared players as rookies in the NFL. Think about it. We have a staff that has been around for 11 years. They work together as a team and evaluate really well. They can take a TE and make them a OT. They can take a QB and make them an all Big 10 LB. We have the respect card on our side but unfortuately name teams can still steal our players.

You are spot on. Granted, a lot of these 4-star recruits are being sought out by almost everyone, some of the lesser-knowns who fly under the radar seem to draw the attention of other schools as soon as those schools learn Iowa has offered. Iowa is well-known as being one of the top programs in the country for evaluating talent. Reminds you we have a great coach in place.

The U is looking at a couple of tough seasons coming up. I don't blame them for trying to grab some good players instead of just warm bodies.
