Memphis to Big East tomorrow?

I live in the Memphis radio footprint. The stations here are saying very credible sources inside the program are saying Memphis to Big East is a done deal and will be announced tomorrow. Maybe Fed Ex bought their way in after all. Don't know if it is true, but the radio guys think it is.

Curious timing with repsect to Alvarez' comments.

Notre Dame must be so proud to be in this league. Memphis and ND are like two corrupt peas in a pod....LOL.

WTF? Pre-emptive move to keep this football league together if the Big Ten comes calling to Rutgers/Cuse/Pitt?....you need a mensa card to keep track of who is in this league...let me try...UConn,West Va,Pitt,Cuse,Rutgers,So Fla?,UCF?,Louisville,Memphis?....seems more like Conference USA with a little NE corrider flavor now....what a crappy conference for a legendary school like ND to be associated with...good for them. Maybe ND will join in a couple of years for football also...great for them.LOL.

Rutgers should go B10, WVU and UCONN should go ACC. Then the Big East could pick up a bunch of teams like Houston and Tulsa and have South Florida go to the SEC and become the American City League.

Syracuse, Pitt, Cincy, Louisville, Memphis, Houston, Tulsa, UTEP, Boise, UNLV, Fresno, San Diego State.

Yeah but look at this from a Basketball prespective. Huge uber b-ball conference, especially if they shed some dead wait like Rutgers.

Well?

I don't understand the Big East over the Big 12 financial argument from some of those posts. There are some on there that think the Big East would bring more money, but that is wrong. In 2008-2009, the Big East gave out $7 mil per school vs the Big 12's $8.7-$15.4 mil. Add on the possibility of much higher contracts in the next round of negotiations and the Big12 would be a much better option financially.

I can understand the uncertain future aspect, but the Big East is on just as shaky ground that the Big12 is.

The Big East doesn't have a Texas throwing it's weight around.

But they have the Big10 throwing their weight around. For the Big12, Texas isn't the problem. After the way they treated the Pac12, I think their only option would be to go independent. A&M is the team that holds the cards now. If they go SEC, it would put the Big12 in a tough position.
