Watching the game and the replay, Ohio State's Amir Williams should have either been T'd up or tossed earlier for repeated high contact to the head and face of Northwestern players, especially Cerina. Those two had been battling all night. On the play leading to the scuffle, both had been pushing under the basket, Cerina appeared to use his forearm to continually push Williams in the back under the basket (a quick whistle at this point on Cerina might have prevented what came later), but then Williams locked Cerina's arm under his armpit as he went out of bounds pulling Cerina into him, at which point Cerina finally managed to break free and pushed Williams.
I blame the meelee in part on the officiating crew, which could have done a better job of managing the contact (both ways) throughout the game. If they had put a stop to it earlier, the temperature of the game might not have been so high as to lead to the confrontation that led to the two ejections.

Update: Nikola Cerina gets one-game suspension, LaQuinton Ross gets none. And Amir Williams, who was equally as responsible for the contact that led to the scuffle, is untouched. I call discrimination against players of Serbian origin.

LawVHawk, that is comical. After Williams and Cerina had essentially been separated, Ross went head hunting, pushed two different plays, one in the back hard enough to make his head wiplash backwards, and almost single-handedly ignited a full fledged brawl. See, this is the kind of crap that ticks me off as Delaney plays favorites with the league's "elite". ********.So Ross misses the last 5 minutes of a blowout win and that's it? Effing rediculous.
